Raw Apple Pie Bars

These bars are so yummy, so simple, and so nutrient dense! And they taste like apple pie, and who doesn't like apple pie?! I dehydrated my own apples for these, and activated my almonds by soaking them overnight and then dehydrating them, but you could just as easily buy them already done, or not worry about it and just use them as they are.

Raw Apple Pie Bars

makes about 10 bars, depending on how big you like them
  • 170g dried apple
  • 1 cup almonds (activated if you like)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • pinch salt
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh dates, pit removed
  • 1/4 cup sunflower seeds

  1. In a food processor, process apple and almonds until they are small and chunky peices.
  2. Add cinnamon, nutmeg and salt and blend to combine
  3. Blend in dates, everything should come together as a dough.
  4. Stir through sunflower seeds (you will need to use your hands for this, as if you're kneading a dough)
  5. Press into a rectangular tray, and cut into bars.

  2. These look amazing. Have you ever used fresh apple? I'm guessing lasting time would diminish to maybe 1 week refrigerated. I'm sure that'd be perfect though!
